Packing For Success on International Travels

Packing for travel can be one of the most time consuming and tedious tasks for you to complete when preparing for your travels. It is imperative to pack efficiently and strategically because it will maximize your space, provide order and create ease within your travel.

There is nothing worse during travel than lugging around your heavy bags and shifting through your carryon to locate some documents as you are trying to reach your destination.

This specific blog post is aimed to assist you in what to pack, when to pack it and how. When you pack your items this way, you'll find that traveling through TSA will be a breeze.

When packing, it is recommended to begin 3 to 4 weeks out from your trip. Start by creating a list of items you want to bring.

Having trouble on creating your list? Download my FREE Travel Checklist. Edit it to your specific travel needs.

Making sure everything you are taking is up to airline policy is crucial as it will eliminate the need for airport security to rummage through your items.

Once everything is gathered, arrange in your preference for best fit for maximized space.

TAKE A PICTURE OF THE CONTENTS OF YOUR CHECKED BAGGAGE INCASE THINGS GET LOST OR DAMAGED.

Packing for TSA is a task that will take a lot of strategic planning. This is because your carryon will pass through screening and the way you pack will determine how fast you will move

in the line.

By packing all electronics in the same pocket, you can take everything out at once and eliminate searching through every area to remove the necessary times such as but not limited to Laptops, iPads, cell phones, etc.

Be sure to empty your water bottle, there will be fountains inside the terminal after TSA.

Bring a blanket and a way to strap it on the outside. This will relive room inside the backpack but also make it easy to reach at anytime. Whether you need to use it to get comfortable in the terminal or plane, if you blanket is out you can immediately use.

Whatever you decide to bring, make sure that you truly need it. If not, leave it and set a fund for items you may need to buy there. It's better to but a regular item in a foreign place because it can count as a souvenir.

My overall tips for packing for any trip is to:

  • plan accordingly (use my template as a guide and edit it for each trip to customize for efficiency).

  • Pack carry on in a TSA friendly manner ( all electronics it one pocket. Remove and reload it same pocket, stack well or easy pull out and return).

  • Take pictures of luggage incase they get lost or damaged.

  • Leave your water bottles empty

  • Geta fanny or neck pouch for import documents. You will take out your passport a lot if you are going international.

Those are all the tips I have for now, if I think of any more. I will update. Have a great day travel friends.
